Small and by developer Merge Games is something similar to Grounded. At least the surface. The world around you is way bigger as your small self fights off insects quite larger than you. That is about it though. You don’t play as a kid that has mysteriously found himself trapped in the backyard and the size of a pea.
You will be able to play co-op with friends, build your base, and craft weapons/Gear.
Key Features:
• A huge open, sandbox world to explore from a tiny perspective
• Build bases and shelters with a host of upgrades and customizations
• Discover the lore behind Small and through quests and the hidden NPCs scattered throughout the world
• Dynamic weather and random events organically create hazardous situations or fortunate events
• Player upgrades and customization, earn and unlock new abilities
• Creature factions: Work alongside creatures, gain their trust, earn allies and mounts
• Solo, PVE, and PVP gameplay
Unfortunately, SmallLand was going to have a demo and early access on Steam soon but that isn’t happening now. Check out what the developers had to say.
“We have conducted some closed testing sessions recently which have provided so much wonderful feedback. This testing has shown us that there’s more we want to do before we throw open the gates to Small and. We won’t rush anything out.
There are two pieces of news to share, one is that the demo will not be coming in October, and the other is that the Early Access release is going to move out in 2021.
We are committed to bringing a demo out for Smalland and we’re excited to give players a taste of what awaits them, but the timeline for this is determined by when we’re confident in what we want to show you rather than placing another date in the calendar to work towards. Rest assured we’ll share more as soon as we can.
Both moves are explained by the same motive, which is that we don’t want to put Smalland out until we’re 100% confident. We’re committed to the community and to delivering the experience that you are looking for in Small and. This is the first internally developed game from Merge Games, and whilst the decision to move anything is never taken lightly, we know that it’s the right thing to do.”
This news might be a bummer but hopefully, this will give the devs more time to get things right. It’s always better to put out a good product rather than rush something that doesn’t play well.
Until then check out the trailer for the game.
