Rumors have been abound the past several years that a variety of teams, including Sucker Punch themselves, could be working on a sequel to their first two major PlayStation IPs: Sly Cooper and inFamous.

While a majority of PlayStation fans would absolutely love a sequel or spinoff from either franchise, Sucker Punch made it official today: no one is currently working on any game based either series.

They confirmed the news in an official blog post today:

As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.

With the success of Ghost of Tsushima, with over 8 million copies sold AND a film adaption in the works, Sony isn’t exactly wanting them to return to their old games at the moment. Just like Sucker Punch said, ‘never say never’, Brah!
