Earlier this week CD Projekt Red broke some mighty news regarding The Witcher 3 and The Witcher series overall.

This series has surpassed over 65 million copies sold with The Witcher 3 counting for 40 million copies of that total. While the Netflix show has most definitely helped with the longevity of TW3 sales, CDPR is also looking to capitalize on current-gen consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, with a update that will take advantage of the added POWAH and features of these consoles.

Announced back in late 2020, Saber Interactive was tasked with creating this update, until yesterday the official Witcher Twitter account posted that the update will be finished in house and has been delayed from the Q2 release until further notice.

So naturally during their Investor’s call meeting yesterday, the Michał Nowakowski, Senior VP of Business development made it clear that there wasn’t trouble in paradise with this upcoming update news of the delay.

When it comes to next-gen launch of Witcher 3, there’s one comment I wanted to make. I’ve been looking at headlines around the internet and one drew my attention: Witcher 3 next-gen delayed indefinitely. This sounds like the game is in sort of development hell. I want to say it’s not a fact. There have been a lot of insinuations that we’re going to launch June of next year. That’s completely not the case.

What do I think? Give them time! The current-gen patch for Cyberpunk 2077 that recently released did wonders for the game on the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. This update is free after all and in the end, is giving back to us fans.

When there’s news to share about the current-gen update, we shall let you know, Brah!
