Launching back in August of 2020, Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape was ready to cash in on the battle royale craze.

Ubisoft really tried their best to hype the game, sponsoring a multitude of streamers to get folks excited for the game but it wasn’t enough. When my oldest son who loves him some BR games had little interest after the launch phase, I knew things weren’t looking good.

Plus it doesn’t help that the last major update happened in March..of 2021. Oof. Ubisoft announced this afternoon the game will be gonng offline come April 28th.

Here’s the official message from the Hyper Scape team.

Contenders,

We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th. We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.

To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished.

Reach out to us if you have questions.

Sincerely, Hyper Scape.

If you missed the announcement last week, Ubisoft has also ended future support for Watch Dogs Legion however the online functions will remain for it.

So uh, hurry up ‘Contenders’ and get your last few months of games in before Ubisoft pulls the plug.
