News broke late last year that Sony is currently working on a revamp of both the PS Plus and PS Now services, merging them both together to offer ‘tiers’ for Gamers to subscribe to based on their gaming needs.
The ball is beginning to roll! VentureBeat is reporting that U.K. retailer GAME has sent the following message to store leaders:
Stores have until the close of day Wednesday 19, January to remove all POS and ESD cards from all customer-facing areas and update their digital bays in line with this week’s upcoming commercial update …
A PlayStation spokesperson responded, trying t9 downplay the situation as nothing but a simple change:
Globally, we are moving from PlayStation Now gift cards to focus on our current cash denomination PlayStation gift cards, which can be redeemed for PlayStation Now.
Ok, sure, but that doesn’t mean something big is about to happen to the service just like Bloomberg stated. My question is this: are you ready for these changes? Are you willing to pay for additional content? Let us know what you think about the future of PS Plus in the comments!
