Unconfirmed reports hit recently stating that the PlayStation 5 had already 10 Million units not even 9 months after release.

It has now be confirmed by Sony, that the PS5 hit this major milestone on July 18th, almost a month faster than the original record holder, the PS4.

Jim Ryan, CEO and President of PlayStation, made it official in a piece with GamesIndustry.biz, as he also revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has sold 6.5 million copies since launch, Returnal has moved over 560,000 since April, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has sold 1.1 million copies in a month. Over 10% of PS5 owners own a copy of Rift Apart!

MLB The Show 21 has moved over 2 million copies since launch and has been played by other 4 million players thanks to its day one availability on Xbox Game Pass.

Congrats to everyone at PlayStation at reaching such a major milestone despite a major ongoing pandemic causing major chip shortages worldwide.
