While you’ve most likely heard of Sumo Group, let me drop a refresher for you.

They have 14 studios across 5 different countries and have developed such memorable titles such as Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Crackdown 3, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, LittleBigPlanet 3, Snake Pass, and many more games since coming around in 2003.

So when news broke this morning that Tencent is wanting to acquire the Sumo Group of talent for $1.27 BILLION hot ones, I wasn’t shocked. They already owned 8.75% of the entertainment group as it is and they’re not shy in letting you know they have plans to acquire more game studios.

While the deal isn’t 100% official, Analyst aren’t expecting any counter bids as the company has recommended shareholders to accept the deal.

Another day, another Tencent acquisition. We have a feeling we might see a few more of these this year.
