Here’s a strange situation that could completely derail the Judgement series from RGG Studio.
Apparently Sega wants to release the game on Steam, however the talent agency (Johnny & Associates) that represents Takuya Kimura, who plays the main character, Takayuki Yagami, does not.
Sega wants to expand the series to Steam to help further the potential of the series. For some bizarre reason the talent agency has ‘strict policies’ regarding image rights of their talent. What it sounds like in the end is that they don’t want Mr. Kimura’s likeness to be modified. Boo. Hoo.
If the two sides can’t figure out a solution, Sega isn’t afraid to drop the series with Lost Judgement. I mean, you could always kill him off and bring in a new hero!
Twitter user Xenosaga pointed out how they wouldn’t let Mr. Kimura’s likeness be seen in an issue of Famitsu!

What an odd world we live in, Brah. Hopefully both sides can come to an agreement, but it doesn’t look good.
