Sony claims to have shipped over 7.8 million PS5s as of March 2021, but you most certainly wouldn’t know it.

If, by a complete miracle, you come across one while shopping at your favorite retailer, it must have been by mistake, or the Gods have surely blessed you. The semiconductor shortage isn’t helping. While the COVID-19 pandemic might be slowing down in the USA, it is still impacting the rest of the world on various levels.

It doesn’t help that Scalpers and their bots are working overtime to make a hefty profit by securing as many as they can, which angers PlayStation CEO & President Jim Ryan.

This really frustrates me and upsets me, especially when resellers and bots manage to get their hands on stock.

Said Mr. Ryan in an interview with Axios. He also mentioned they’re working hard with their retail partners to get as many units into “the right hands”. Jim talked about the way PlayStation Direct is giving gamers the chance to get a PS5, with the service coming to Europe by March 2022.

If you absolutely need one, I recommend following Wario64 on Twitter, then turning notifications on for him. Sure, he tweets quite often yet he does a great job of finding all the latest PS5 listings!
