If you’re reading this and have children that are old enough to game, then they probably play a mixture of these three games – Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox.

The first two games have enjoyed massive success on the PlayStation ecosystem. Hell, Minecraft is the best-selling physical PS Vita release in Japan! Roblox though, is currently only available on the PC, Mobile, and Xbox One. It has over 140 million users across those three platforms but it still room to expand massively and it very well could be, if the CEO and Co-founder of Roblox Corporation has his way.

Dave Baszucki commented on the possibility of the global gaming platform reaching more consoles during their Q1 2021 earnings conference call how it ‘makes perfect sense’ to release Roblox on more platforms.

So absolutely long-term, Switch, PlayStation, Quest – all of these platforms make perfect sense for Roblox. What you’re seeing right now is an incredible focus on the phone by us, which we believe is an incredibly difficult form factor and the most difficult form factor for that immersion, but these are all logical platforms and at the same time, we won’t share any ship dates for them.

While most of everyone who is reading this probably won’t care, I can promise you that if you told your youngling, they would most definitely freak the hell out in excitement. I’m not entirely sure what has been holding it back for release but I’m sure Sony would love for Roblox creators to get creative af on the PlayStation ecosystem.
