This is not a joke Batman! The Bat-Signal must be broken because it’s just been announced that Gotham Knights has been delayed to 2022.

Surprised? Delays, delays, delays.

I’m going to be real honest with you here. Until I saw this tweet, I forgot that this game had even been announced. In fact, I had forgotten everything about this game.

Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.

Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet. In either solo-play or with one other hero, patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it.

That summary comes from the official Gotham Knights site.

Man, DC loves to be all dark and gritty. Friggin Batman is dead! I’ve always liked Batman but I quit keeping up with comics when the focus became on the over saturated and populated Bat Family. Too much going on.

The open-world action RPG sounds nice but I couldn’t care less about playing as anyone but Batman. It’s cool that the Court of Owls is going to get some loved. I loved that storyline. I’m going to have to see a whole lot more from this game before it gets on my radar.

Anyways, Gotham Knights will now release in 2022 (we’ll see). At that time, they may as well forget about the Current Gen versions (unless in 2022 everyone is still complaining they can’t get a PS5).
