“He’s back. Lord Voldemort is back!“
Okay, so maybe the following news isn’t as bad as when Harry Potter revealed You-Know-Who had returned but it’s still hard to hear.
In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone, except for those who refused to believe Lord Voldemort could ever return, WB Interactive Entertainment and Portkey Games have announced the majorly anticipated open world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, has been delayed till 2022.
We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022.
Look, we all knew this was coming. People really want their games now but more than that they want their games finished and done right (coughCyberPunk2077cough)!
Even after all these years, Harry Potter and the Wizarding World has a huge following. I myself was once a big fan but got tired of it when the first Magical Beasts movie came out (I haven’t even seen the next one). This is a major let down but I think most everyone agrees it’s probably for the best.
Heck, by the time it’s released, maybe J.K. Rowling will be in peoples good graces again (nope)! If I’m being honest, we probably won’t even see this game in 2022. As former Hogwarts Head Master Albus Dumbledore once said “The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.” My truth should always be treated with caution!
What do you think Potter Maniacs? Is this the right move or are you bummed that you have to wait a little longer?
