When you look at how Sony’s 2021 lineup is beginning to take shape, there’s no question it’s looking as strong, or arguably stronger than its 2020 counterpart. Sony’s prepping games like, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West, for release next year and this doesn’t even include other games with some form of console exclusivity like Deathloop and Kena Bridge of Spirits.

There’s one other big title published by PlayStation Studios, coming from a team that’s working on their first big AAA title and that’s none other than Housemarque, the team behind Returnal.

We don’t know too much about the game, aside from its initial reveal and some additional snippets of story and gameplay info that’s trickled out since then. But, thanks to BestBuy Canada, we might have an idea for when we can expect this highly anticipated new ip to come.

Discovered first on resetera, Returnal has a planned release date of March 19th 2021 and will cost $90 CAD.

Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt as all rumors should, but the game has previously been hinted of having an early 2021 date. If the date is true, this could give us implications for when to expect Sony’s other big games.

For instance, we know Ratchet & Clank, is scheduled for the PlayStation 5’s launch window and a recent PS5 trailer suggests the game will come out during the first half of the year. Both Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 aren’t expected until later on in the year. So, for all intents and purposes, Retrunal really could be the first PlayStation Studios release of 2021.

Either way, if the game is this close to release, we should receive some fairly large updates soon.
