Insomniac Games has responded to a twitter user, asking whether or not Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, would release on PlayStation 4 and the developer provided an answer that definitively squashes any concern.
The confirmation makes absolute sense as the game’s core selling point of jumping between dimensional rifts, nearly instantaneously, can only truly be done with the use of the PlayStation 5’s SSD.
Confusion has stemmed from some of PlayStation Studio’s games being available on both PlayStation 4 and 5. A stance that Sony seemed somewhat against earlier in the year but have recently walked back on said messaging.
Games like Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy A Big Adventure, will all be cross generation games. But thankfully, Ratchet & Clank joins a list that includes Demon’s Souls, Astro’s Playroom and Destruction Allstars as titles built specifically with the PlayStation 5 in mind.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will release during the launch window of the PlayStation 5.
