(Update) A response to Gematsu from Ubisoft states the following:
We have pulled the Ubisoft Connect article and forum post re backwards compatibility for the time being as there may be inaccuracies involving the Ubisoft titles that will be playable on PS5.
Once an updated list is provided, we will let you know!
When Sony finally dropped information regarding their PS4 games on PS5 backwards compatibility they presented a rather short list of games that would absolutely not work on the PS5. Now today thanks to Ubisoft, that list has grown by 8.
On a post then went live earlier this morning on Ubisoft Connect, the following 8 games have been identified as non-playable on the PlayStation 5.
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia
- Star Trek Bridge Crew
- Werewolves Within
- Space Junkies
Three of those games (Star Trek, Werewolves Within, and Space Junkies) are rather enjoyable PS VR titles! What gives, Ubisoft!! Much, MUCH, MUUUUCH smaller devs have already confirmed they’re working on patches to fix their games. No way that a MASSIVE company like Ubisoft won’t do the same.
Right? (Note: we were going to cover this news hour ago until Ubisoft removed the information, then added it back. Odd.)
