Resident Evil 4 changed the game when it released on the Gamecube 15 years ago. As a drastic overhaul of the series, it inspired numerous games in the 2000’s and has been ported to almost every console since. It’s a classic in every sense of the word.

Now the rumor that many aren’t excited about the same way they were when Capcom announced the RE2 & RE3 remake is going to happen: The Resident Evil 4 Remake is in ‘full production’ at Capcom/M-Two. The team will also be helped by Capcom’s internal teams and has the blessing of Shinji Makami who Directed RE4.

Sources have told VGC that the game has been in production since 2018, with a major release set for 2022. This year blessed us with the Resident Evil 3 Remake, next year is (rumored to be) Resident Evil 8, so the Resident Evil 4 Remake would work perfectly in 2022. This is if Capcom currently stays on the CoD like schedule of having a ‘new’ RE every year.

A fresh coat of next-gen graphics on the PS5 could do wonders for the game along with a few minor gameplay adjustments here and there, then BOOM. A whole new generation of fans to enjoy one of the BEST Resident Evil games ever made.
