While Critics couldn’t agree with how they felt about Days Gone, that didn’t stop Gamers from enjoying Deacon’s post-apocalyptic world as it went on to become of the top ten best-selling PS4 exclusives in North America according to the NPD group.

With Days Gone’s secret ending introducing a major game changing twist, the door is wide-open for many more tales in the universe. We all know how Sony certainly isn’t afraid to greenlight sequels.

After winning PlayStation game of the year and Storytelling of the year from the Golden Joystick awards, Chris Reese, Studio Director at Bend Studio, talked to GamesRadar about the possibility of a sequel to Days Gone after receiving the two GJ awards.

Oh yeah, it is certainly a passion of ours, and that’s what we’ve always wanted to do. This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues. So who knows, we’ll see!

Seeing as how the team is in the pre-production state of their next major PlayStation exclusive, I’m willing to bet we won’t wait six years for a Days Gone 2.. on the PlayStation 5!

Get ready for bigger Hordes, new enemies, more detailed environments, and more Deek than you could ever handle with a DualShock controller.
