Many would argue that along with The Witcher III, God of War is easily one of the best games of the generation after winning dozens of Game of the year awards in 2018 from many websites and publications.
The major difference between it and TWIII is that up until the drastic revamping of PlayStation Now, the only way you were playing God of War was on the PlayStation 4 family of consoles. Now thanks to PS Now’s streaming feature, you can play it on your PC in full 720P glory until January 2020. Not exactly what Kratos would deem worthy of his epic adventure.
But what if you could play God of War on your PC, natively, in 4K/60fps? When asked by a fellow fan, Cory Barlog, Creative Director of God of War didn’t shy away from sharing his feelings about a PC version.
You know, I would love that. It is, sadly, a decision far above my paygrade. As is proven on a daily basis, I am no Kojima.— Cory Barlog 🎮 🎃🦇🕸️ (@corybarlog) October 29, 2019
Could it happen? Who knows. Shawn Layden talked about how upcoming multiplayer exclusives from SIE WWS could come to PC to help maximize the potential of the games. With the PlayStation 5 releasing in a year, would it really hurt the PS4’s bottom line by releasing it on PC this long after release?
The future of gaming is quickly changing. Never say never once next-gen arrives. Would you play God of War on a Master Race PC rig?
