Was you expecting Gamescom 2019 to bring the heat this year? Not only can you call us impressed but you can also call us excited as well. With all the new gameplay and news released this week it has been a tad difficult to keep up. Did you watch every video this week? You did? Well you have been the busiest little bee. Of course we like to see the big blockbuster news with AAA titles but we can’t forget about those amazing Indie titles. We are excited to release our list of top Indie games showcased at Gamescom 2019.

An asymmetrical multiplayer game that lets you play as the boss. Team up with your friends as a warband of brave Vikings and wreak havoc in a variety of wacky arenas. Bash bosses with axes, hammers, bows or your bare knuckles. Get ready for fast-paced combat with themed traps that deliver unexpected gameplay.

Dead Static Drive

Dead Static Drive is being developed by Mike Blackney and has been described as “Grand Theft Cthulhu” which is quite alright with us. Drive your car around in this odd and mysterious game full of darkness. The simple style yet unique detail has made this game high on many Indie gamers list. From screeching tires to shotgun blasts it appears this could be one ride you don’t want to miss.


  • Survive – Loot, gather or kill in order to stay alive.
  • Road trip – Drive across a dangerous America making pit stops along the way.
  • Do what you like – Climb, drive, run, shoot, loot or attack people however you see fit.

A game that isn’t just visually awesome but also intriguing with the way it is dealing with the afterlife. You will play as Stella a ferrymaster to the deceased called a Spiritfarer. Stella needs to build a boat and help spirits move on to the afterlife. As you make your way across the sea you can play in cooperative mode as well by joining as Daffodil the cat. The game is tackling a very emotional subject and so far it appears to be lighthearted and beautiful.


  • Farm, mine, fish, harvest cook and craft your way across a mystical sea.

Atomicrops had me laughing from the trailer alone. This game gives us the cartoony look in a post-apocalypse landscape. An action roguelite farming simulator will see you trying to survive after a nuclear blast wipes out the surrounding countryside. You must grow crops in order to feed the local town and defend the land against mutant pests and bandits. Befriend the local wildlife and watch your profits grow as they help with the chores.


  • Farm – Grow Mutant crops and reap a bountiful harvest to sustain humanity and make a huge profit.
  • Marry – Woo and marry a kindred spirit from the local town to fight and farm alongside you.
  • Kill – Fight bizarre post-nuclear pests starving for a piece of your crops at night. Hunt and forage in dangerous surrounding biomes for seed and loot during the day. Turn your enemies into fertilizer to increase your crops quality.
  • Upgrade – Explore the far reaches of the biomes to find useful relics of farms long past. Discover rusty farm equipment, antique gardening tools and tomes of how-to garden guides to increase your farming power. Spend your money in town to upgrade your gun and abilities. Permanently upgrade your farm house for bonuses that persist across playthroughs.
  • Befriend – Recruit an entourage of pig pals, chicken chums and cow colleagues to automate farming tasks. Cultivating atomicrops is a tough job, you’ll need all the help you can get.

Cyber Shadow

This old school pixel game bursts onto the scene with some ninja action. Battle synthetic lifeforms and journey to uncover what started the path to ruin. Slash, leap, and nimbly navigate the ruins of Mekacity. The game offers some sweet combat action and as you know I am already a big fan of pixel games. This one could easily move of up my list of must play games.

Here we have a fast-paced free-moving roguelite platformer that is set in a post-apocalyptic world. A mysterious entity has wreaked havoc and Kyhra the deadliest of her clan must explore the unknown to solve the mystery. Hack, slash, jump and shoot your way with some bad ass moves and see if you have what it takes to save humanity. The skill level for this one should be pretty high as it’s been described as Dead Cells and Celeste like.

High up on the list is Stranded Sails an open world farming adventure. You and your crew are shipwrecked on a mysterious archipelago and it’s up to you to survive, solve the mysteries of the island and ultimately escape by building a new ship. With story driven quests and a full crew to keep happy this cartoony game is packed with fun looking content. Can you farm AND fight the dangers of the island?

Pine is a game I am very much wanting to play. An action adventure simulation game set in a world that doesn’t belong to humans. On the island of Albamare the intricate ecology reacts, evolves and adapts to you specifically. Play as Hue part of the last remaining tribe in search for a new home for the humans. You must learn about the ways to influence the ecology and navigate your way through an ever changing world. Pine is not only an ambitious title but one that can truly be unique.

Bloodroots isn’t just high up on our list as it appears to be moving up the charts for everyone. Mr. Wolf is out for revenge when his so called killer didn’t finish the job. He is outnumbered and all alone but that isn’t going to stop this bad ass. In a full on action game you will use ultra-violent combos by making use of everything around you. That means anything from hatchets, to ladders, to carrots, yep carrots. Don’t be afraid to unleash the beast in this one as it is you against them.


  • A world overflowing with makeshift weapons that not only change the way you fight, but how you get around
  • Improvise the most deadly combos and compete for fame on worldwide leaderboards
  • Fight your way through a variety of handcrafted levels, from forests to mountaintops

Raji: An Ancient Epic

This action adventure takes place in India right at the start of the next Great War. Demons are threatening to drive humanity to the brink of extinction. Raji was chosen by the gods as the sole defender of the human race. She is gifted with godlike powers and must journey to find her younger brother while finding herself through self-discovery. Raji needs to harness her powers and stop the great Lord Mahabalasura who plans to capture the human realm for himself. I had never heard of this game before Gamescom and I feel fortunate that it is now on my list. Raji: An Ancient Epic not only looks incredible but it permeates heart when you watch the trailer. The developers appear to have put a lot of love in to this game and I will be all smiles when a release date is announced.


  • The player feels a demigod residing in Raji while the vulnerable human side is never too far. The focus of the gameplay is as follows.
  • Choose your Gods to favor you, each one of them provides you with striking abilities for various weapons, allowing you to fight against all odds.
  • Fight against a variety of enemies, including mini-bosses and epic boss battles. Every fight is more challenging than the previous.
  • Explore the levels to discover intriguing locations and exciting puzzles.
  • Quick switch between two weapons, allowing you to maneuver your tactics and approach to best your opponent.
