During Gamescom Opening Night Live, PlayStation and Illfonic showcased the first gameplay for Predator: Hunting Grounds and boy did it look great! The gameplay reveal was short and sweet, but it was a showcased a good sample of what’s to come. Coming from the studio that made the Friday the 13th Game, you might expect a scenario where one player is the Predator and has to take down multiple players that are soldiers.

The Predator kept the traditional third person view and we can see him jumping from tree to tree while carefully trying to take out each soldier. Whether you will take the stealth approach or just go guns blazing, I would imagine most people can’t wait to step into this role and just completely annihilate everyone in the match.

The interesting bit came from the role of the soldier. Unlike the Predator, soldiers will play this game in first person view. The shooting that they showcased in the trailer looked solid and responsive. If they can nail the gun controls, I would expect it to be extremely fun to play as the soldier to take down the Predator. It also seems like players will initially battle other human enemies before being hunted. It adds a nice little twist from the Friday the 13th Game style where you start off as a counselor and have to just find a way to escape. In this game, the hunters will become the hunted.
