Samurai Shodown launched in late June and it’s season pass was available for free for the first week of launch. With the game slowly growing in popularity, and having it’s own successful EVO tournament, SNK has shown off season 1 and hinted at a 2020 season 2.

The trailer showcased, showed the DLC characters and their release windows. The upcoming characters are pulled from different releases of Samurai Shodown and go as followed: Rimururu from Samurai Shodown III will launch this month, Basara will come in October, Kazuki Kazama from Samurai Shodown IV will launch in November, and Wan-Fu will cap the season off in December. Samurai Shodown III‘s Shizumaru Hisame will come for free in September and it was strongly hinted that a season 2 is very likely to come in 2020 with character Mina Majikina from Samurai Shodown V being the first character.

If your unfamiliar with the Samurai Shodown series, it first launched in 1993 and went dormant in 2008. A decade later and 2019’s Samurai Shodown launched for PS4 and has become a resurgence for the series. Haohmaru will also be a crossover DLC fighter for Soul Calibur VI‘s second season of DLC.
