Uh oh, looks like things are going crazy over at Activision’s trio of Call of Duty studios. While it is pretty much guaranteed that this year’s game will be Modern Warfare 4, Call of Duty 2020 is in complete disarray as Treyarch has taken over development from Raven Software/Sledgehammer Games and now plans on Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 for current and next-gen consoles.

Jason Schreier of Kotaku broke the news this afternoon that Activision had given Raven Software the keys to the COD car to create a new Cold War game for their billion-dollar IP until very recently as those keys were taken away and given back to Treyarch, the kings of the Black Ops series.

Why? Apparently Raven and Sledgehammer have been at odds over major decisions regarding the game causing the situation to become a ‘mess’ Now the current plan is to turn what both teams have created into Black Ops 5‘s single-player while all three teams have less than two years to create a product for Activision to pay all those bonuses to their big shots of the company.

We feel bad for all the teams involved due to the fact of all the immense pressure this schedule will put the team under to deliver. Crunch is inevitable.
