May is just a day away and it is time to look at some Indie games coming soon. With a really big Indie title coming out this month I decided to take a look at those you might not have heard of before. The month of May is packed with Indie titles but let’s check out five that should certainly be on your radar. Enjoy!

VA-11 HALL-A

Developer: Sukeban Games

VA-11 HALL-A the cyber punk indie bartender simulation will be getting a console release. Developed by Sukeban Games the anime inspired story has you play as a bartender that well…serves drinks and listens to the bar patrons. The game has been out on PC for quite some time but I’ve heard this is a gem that any fan of the genre should experience. You can mix your way through the game and see if you have what it take to be a stellar bartender in this retro style game. The developers announced they are working on a sequel so you have that to look forward to as well.

Close to the Sun

Release Date: May 2nd 2019?

Developer: Storm in a Teacup

The year is 1897 and far out in the ocean journalist Rose Archer is aboard the Helios created from the vision of Nikola Tesla. Here there are experiments going on that deal with matter and time. Rose must overcome the horrors this has created in order to find her sister. This horror game is ready to delight with mystery and intrigue. Search grand halls as you discover things aboard the Helios are not what you would call, normal. The unsettling atmosphere and environment surely has us intrigued to find out just what happened on the Helios. A portal to another dimension? Who knows but you should certainly check this one out. Close to the Sun is ready to be close on your watch list.

Brief Battles

Need to scratch that multiplayer itch? Have a desire for a party game? Well look no further. Brief battles wants you to pull up your underpants and I guess use them as well. Here you can use an arsenal of underpants that will give you an edge over your friends. With a variety to choose from and 50 arenas you will battle up to 4 friends in this romping good time. Blast, smash, and destroy your friends in order to become the champion of underpants.

For The King

Developer: IronOak Games

For The King is a strategic RPG with board game, JRPG, and roguelike mechanics that will offer solo or co-op campaigns. You will face your foes with turn-based combat. Defeat them with powerful weapons and defend yourself with armor. Adventure into dungeons or go for the Gold Rush in un-cooperative mode. The nice cartoon art and fun looking combat will surely appeal to those in seek of some turn-based action. Have fun with discovering the lore of the game, crafting weapons, gathering items or adventuring on the procedurally crafted map. IronOak Games has created a game that is filled with content and one you should definitely check out.

Observation

Release Date: May 21st 2019

Developer: NoCode

Observation by NoCode is a sci-fi thriller about Emma Fisher and the crew of her mission. Here you play as S.A.M the station’s artificial intelligence as you operate the control system, cameras, and other things to help Emma discover what happened. The crew is missing and a mystery surround the entire station. There isn’t much else to say about Observation other than we can’t wait to see how things play out on the space station. Playing as the A.I helping Emma survive should provide plenty of tense moments.
