Wait…what? No, you are not reading this wrong. With the recent Labo from Nintendo, you can use the Switch to play Zelda and Mario Odyssey in VR. However, because of the way VR splits the resolution and lowers it for each eye. This can result in not the most excellent way to experience VR, but there seems to be a way to experience Zelda and Mario in higher resolution thanks to PlayStation VR.

To do so follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the HDMI cable from the Switch dock.
  2. On the PlayStation VR breakout box, unplug the HDMI cable all the way to the right and plug the HDMI that was connected to the Switch dock into this port.
  3. Then the HDMI cable you unplugged from the PlayStation VR breakout box, you will now plug into the Switch dock.
  4. Make sure the Switch is docked and you should be good to go.

The great thing is that as long as everything works, the VR portion of Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey should have a higher resolution for VR which makes it an overall better experience, but that this also means that because of PlayStation VR cinematic mode, you could also be playing your favorite Nintendo Switch games on a bigger screen all thanks to the glorious PlayStation VR.
