Wubin Adventures the 2.5D puzzle platformer is currently campaigning on Kickstarter by developer Spirance Studio. In the game you play as a young boy on a school trip visiting archaeological sites when a sandstorm hits separating young Wubin from his classmates. Looking for shelter he ventures inside a mysterious entrance into an underground ruin filled with dark caves.
Wubin will have to find his way by solving all sorts of puzzles and avoid deadly creatures as well. With the game using the Unreal Engine 4 it is already looking pretty detailed and realistic with its movements. Wubin’s adventure will be wrapped around 18 levels with music to accommodate each level separately.
Seeing the game mechanics look so finely tuned already have led to some excitement behind this project. Moving objects, climbing, throwing objects and the mechanical traps are reminiscent of games like Inside or Little Nightmares. Not bad company to be compared to for this Indie developer.
As of right now the developers have a goal of $16,945 with the project ending March 17, 2019. For $25 US dollars you can get a digital copy of the game (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) with your name in the credits and access to the closed beta in May.
This is an “All or Nothing” project so it will only move forward with full funding. The developers have said they plan on releasing the game on consoles at a later date whether that tier of the campaign is reached or not. There is still plenty of work to do on the project such as character refinement and refined physics for animations but with the way the game appears already this will be an added bonus.
The game can be found here Wubin/Kickstarter and check out the trailer below.
