Earlier today Ninja Theory revealed quite the interesting bit of news: Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice would be coming to VR devices such as Vive and Oculus Rift on July 31. Oddly enough, PSVR support wasn’t mentioned, which immediately caused an uproar. Before you think the worst, this decision has nothing to do with Microsoft’s acquisition on the company.

Ninja Theory bravely sailed the Console Wars’ waters to let it be known that the VR version of HB: SS won’t be releasing on the PSVR due to power constraints of the PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Look. Ninja Theory is respectful enough to sugar coat it. We all know the ranking of VR power. The Vive is the badass sports car, The Oculus Rift is that nice sedan, and the PSVR is the mini-van that everyone can enjoy but still has to use a Jaguar CPU to get things done. I absolutely LOVE my PSVR and completely understand the situation.

They’re targeting badass, high-end PC’s to push the Vive and Oculus Rift to their limits. For an indie title, Hellblade had some damn good visuals. I’m sure they’re sacrificing a bit of details as it is to get this running properly as it is, would you want to game highly butchered on the PSVR? No way!

It sucks, but like they say.. it is what it is! There’s over 200+ PSVR games/experiences to enjoy and much more to come! The loss of one title isn’t going to ruin the Greatness that the PlayStation VR has given us!
