When I turned on Chicken Assassin: Reloaded my first thought was, “what in the world did I get myself into?” You start off with nothing but a pair of fists and some chicken anger, if that’s a thing. Then mysteriously after about twenty minutes I realized something, I was enjoying the game. I was completely shocked. How was I having so much fun with pointing and clicking away? I’ll try and explain the best I can as you get ready to fight with Mean Mcasllister through wave after wave of bad guys. Was he set up by Dr. Spritzel? Was Candy really his girlfriend? I honestly do not know the answer to those questions so let’s get started!

Chicken Assassin: Reloaded does not hide. It is point and click on a target to bash into submission. It does this very well. The more you bash the more “souls” you earn (these are your points) to get better gear. Yes you can upgrade your chicken. Afraid of not earning enough souls? Don’t worry there is a soul cauldron you can bash and get extra souls at any time. You can even get helpers to bash for you later in the game. The assassin has HP, attack, critical and all kinds of perks to level up. You will find these in the upgrade section and you might need some glasses to read this stuff. It was certainly difficult to make out some of the words.

In your inventory you will find items to sell or gear to equip. In the beginning you will need to keep focus on unlocking more inventory. The items will start coming in waves and you do not want to miss out on that key piece. If that does happen though don’t worry there is plenty to go around. You even have a treasure chest on your home screen you can bash for items. Trust me you want your inventory upgraded.

Did somebody say something about achievements? Well of course! This would be the Rooster tales. Here you can reward yourself with more souls from all the glorious things you have achieved during the game. Just make sure you have upgraded your soul capacity before you start claiming them all. This game isn’t stingy and it rewards you for bashing.

Now if you are going to be an assassin you have to be a good looking assassin. The wardrobe is fantastic. I do not want to ruin the surprise here but let’s just say there will be certain items you will recognize immediately. Would you ever think playing dress up could be so much fun with a chicken? Well it is and you will probably laugh while doing it. Hurry bash away so you can see all the hilarious ways you can dress your chicken.

Chicken Assassin: Reloaded also has its own black market which will surely make you laugh. Then if that wasn’t enough you get boss raids! All you have to do is beat a level and then collect items from said level to enjoy a fun romp with very angry bosses. Which brings me to the enemies in this game. They are comical. They are out there. They are the foundation of this game. It’s funny and goofy all at the same time. I found myself getting pummeled because I was looking at all the silliness in the background. The game gives you plenty to look at and that can be the challenge at times.

If you find yourself wanting to snag a copy of Chick Assassin: Reloaded just know one thing. You will point and click until your fingers are tired. That is what this game is, point and mash buttons to smash things. It is funny and silly with itself. It knows it’s a button mashing game and it will give you all the tools you need to succeed. I wish there were more buttons included to give it a little more appeal. A few combos would bring this game up a notch.

There was also I pretty big flaw in this game. The narrator sounds like incoherent babbling. I had a very hard time understanding any part of the story he was trying to tell us and yes there is a story. Of course I do not know much about it because I couldn’t understand what he was saying. They even try to caption the words but most of the time you cannot read that either. This doesn’t necessarily need it to be on point but it wouldn’t have hurt the game. I don’t know if it can be fixed but it should be. The overall experience of this game had me hooked and I did have fun creating the best chicken assassin possible. If you want a button mashing good time then this is your game.
