Breaking news courtesy of Jason Schreier over at Kotaku!! An anonymous developer has informed the gaming website that Sony sent out a message confirming that production of physical Vita cartridges will come to an end by Sony’s fiscal year 2018, which is March 31, 2019. Vita product code request to need be submitted by June 28, 2018 and final purchase orders be done by February 15, 2019.

Combine this with the fact that PS Vita games being offered as a part of PS+ comes to an end come March 2019 things ain’t looking too good for Sony’s little handheld that could.

By that time the cartridges go bye-bye, the Vita will be 7 years young, which is pretty damn amazing for something that Sony completely gave up on.
