Author’s Thoughts:

The final PS+Write Up of the year! Yes, December is here and are the newest additions to the PS+ Line Up of games. Normally when considering how to end the year, I would say “with a bang”, and while some titles seem worthy of that statement, other aren’t so much. Let’s dive in for what we have in store. Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is a nice addition to the ensemble of PS4 games, though not without any draw backs considering that the port was pretty unstable at first, but it seems the development team have patched the game recently so it should be running better than post launch day. Though it doesn’t pale (yes, that was a pun) in comparison to the best PS4 game in the Line Up, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends! (yes, that was sarcasm) This game was a real deal breaker for most, sparking debates on the quality of games for the program. Though for me the game is an interesting addition, it’s a fun kiddie game that I think could be for children who are getting a PS4 this holiday season.

Looking back at last gen’s line up, both the PS3 & Vita look a bit livelier with these titles. xBlaze: Lost Memories is a visual novel sequel for the PS3, which is an odd addition considering most visual novels stick to the Vita. If you’re a fan of the BlazBlue games, consider yourself treated with this short and fun story. Now if you’re like me and like more puzzle heavy elements and exploration, look no further than the Syberia Collection. This is a bundle of the original Syberia & Syberia 2, released back in 2002 and ported to the PS3. While unremarkable for the system its ported to, we do have be thankful that these games are like hidden gems that you should take the time and check them out. As for the Vita, if you’re a fan of the classic Metroidvania I got great news for you, Forma 8 is just what you’re looking for. This simple looking game is a relaxing and beautiful experience from start to finish, with a eerie but wonderful soundtrack and a mystery as you explore the surface of an alien planet in search of your friends. Lastly we have Wanted Corp, this top down action game will throw you into the shoes of bounty hunters, Mad Dog and Irina, as you try to capture the scum of the galaxy. Play solo or CO-OP with your friends, in this short and easy game.
