(Update!) Ok, false alarm! Epic Games have commented on the matter. ‘Twas an oopsy.

We had a configuration issue and it has now been corrected.

So continue dreaming, true believer. Keep on dreaming.

Here’s a bizarre story for you! Sony has been pretty adamant about not allowing cross-platform play between the PS4 and XB1. They don’t see it as a benefit for them and hell, when Microsoft was the leader last-gen, they weren’t all about it either. However, the gaming industry is always evolving, so perhaps one day Cross-platform will be a reality.

Weeellll this past weekend, it seems as if someone at Epic Games might have accidentally turned off the invisible wall (or whatever magical device that keeps gamers apart) for their latest title, Fortnite, as multiple players have reported to have play the game with Other Console users!!!

Here’s one such story. Believe it.. or not?!

I was just playing Fortnite on my Playstation 4 and ran into a group of teamers at the end of Battleroyale… surprise… and noticed I got killed by an odd gamertag.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/175127882 here is a link of the twitch VOD as proof of whom I was killed by, his friends and the fact I was using a PS4.

That gamer tag is IMPOSSIBLE to create on PS4 because of the space. On PSN you are only able to add underscores into gamertags. So I typed it in with an underscore just figuring it was a glitch. Nope, no dice.

I am lucky enough to own both a PS4 and [Xbox One]. So I switch over to my XB1 and boom, instant results. I also searched his friend he was teaming with RatoDoGlobal… boom instant results.

Has Epic Games decided to push the industry forward? Is Jim Ryan currently freaking out over the safety of the children?! Was this a super wild glitch or have the walls holding back cross-platforming truly fallen?!?

Don’t expect any answers.. but if gamers truly want this, let your voices be heard!
