Days before E3 2017, Hideo Kojima confirmed what most gamers had already guessed. Death Stranding would not be appearing at one of gaming’s biggest events of the year. While Kojima did appear there (to discuss his love for movies), no new footage was blessed to gamers.
This hasn’t stopped people from asking about it. Shawn Layden, The Big Boss over at Sony Worldwide Productions was asked by The Telegraph about Kojima’s latest mystery, as they wondered if the game actually, well ya know.. exists…
No, no – its up and running. It’s been aided tremendously after Kojima-San decided to co-opt the Decima [graphics] engine from Guerrilla [that powered Horizon Zero Dawn]. And, gosh, that really gave him a leg up to get up and running and test it and have some prototype levels running. I couldn’t explain to you what the game is..
Whoa. Wait. Shawn has played it? Well duh, of course, he has.. HE’S THE BIG BOSS!!
I have actually played some of it.
Will it be as awesome and revolutionary as Kojima claims??
[After a thoughtful pause] All that and more!!
SHAWN!!! Why you do this to us?!? Knowing that we probably won’t get another look at the game until PSX 2017!!! Why?!? WHHHYYYY?!?
Whenever they do plan to reveal the first look at Death Stranding‘s gameplay. Be it Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, or PSX 2017, we all know it will easily be the most talked about game when shown.
