From Claws Encounters to the Furbitten Planet, the lovable mascot from the SNES days is back!

The North American company, Accolade, Inc. has just announced via their new Twitter handle, @BubsyThe_Bobcat, a teaser for the mascot’s newest game coming to the PS4 and PC. According to the press release:

Bubsy the Woolies Strike Back is an all new Bubsy adventure featuring Bubsy in a bevy of exotic locations as he travels the planet looking for the beloved Golden Fleece. Bubsy must use all of his classic moves and a few new ones to dodge and out bobcat a battalion of Woolies, sharks and bess, not mention the gnarliest UFO bosses to ever grace a Bubsy adventure. The wisecracking lynx also adds over a 100 new one liners to his lexicon to keep fans guessing what he’ll say next.”

The company also issued a return to game development after Accolade was purchased by Infogames in 1999 after publishing their supposed last game, Redline, which was held with mixed reception, by stating:

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back will also mark the return of the Accolade game brand. Accolade is well known to retro gamers everywhere for a series of arcade, action and sports classics from the mid 80’s to the 2000s.”

“Now, after more than a decade and half absence, 2017 marks the return of one of the most beloved and iconic names to gamers all around the World. Accolade is back!”

“Get ready for the return of iconic games and franchises like BusbyHardballSlave Zero, Deadlock, Eradicator, Redline and more!”

With the announcement of new games down the line, we’ll see how these older games will fair to the new generation of gamers who have previously not played these types of games.  If you’re a fan of the Bobcat or any of the other games that Accolade has developed over the years, share your thoughts down below, would love to hear them.

Author’s Notes:

This announcement was out of left field compared to what we’ve previously seen so far, with E3 coming next week, we’ll probably see more gameplay and details of the game than what we’ve seen so far. I’m not a big fan of the bobcat, but I will give Accolade the benefit of the doubt, and pass them with a clean slate. The company has dealt a lot of over the years, and with each passing moment, it has the potential to strike back in a market filled with gritty, deep and realistic looking games. I will be looking forward to see if they can accomplish this goal with low expectations.
