I can’t and I won’t lie. I’m a Marvel fanboy through and through. I’ve been a comic book connoisseur all my life. Marvel, DC, Image, you know it, I enjoy them all, but Marvel has always been the one brand I resonated with. So the following news is music to Marvel zombie ears.

Bill Rosemann, Creative Director of Marvel Games, was at it again. First he got us all hyped about Spider-Man PS4, now he’s getting us all excited about the entire lineup of  newly announced games, when speaking with IGN UK, he expressed the goals of Marvel Games. Like how the developers are being given free rein on the content they’re creating.

“We want to give [developers] freedom to tell their story and we want to make it an original story. We want to give our partners…freedom to look at all of Marvel history and to pick from what interests them. It’s a bit like we’re saying, ‘Hey you’re the chef, you’re going to make this meal. Here’s all of the ingredients. You pick the ingredients that you like and make a new meal.”

Man, do you know how many childhood dreams the developers have been pitching during the creative process?! Like a dream come true, Brah!

Bill wasn’t done yet. He also talked about giving developers the time to make these games. Remember the old days where games were rushed to release day and date of the film? Those days are over.

“We’re not going to rush things, we’re not going to get things out before they’re done. We’re also not going to try to do the very tricky balancing act of trying to make a game that adapts a movie and get it out in the same window as the movie.

We want every game to be game of the year. So we’re focusing on each game at a time. We know there are certain characters people are really hungry for, [but] right now we’re just going to focus on getting those right.”

Yes!!! Say goodbye to those horrific Iron Man games that didn’t do the character justice. Or the Captain America game that made you question why Steve was the leader of the Avengers.

Instead, now we have Insomniac Games creating a Spider-Man game. Now we have Crytstal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal making a proper Avengers game. Telltale games will be given a chance to show again why they’re the masters of storytelling with their take on The Guardians of the Galaxy. Capcom will continue their tradition of making some of the best fighting games with Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.

The future is bright for Marvel Games and all of their respective partners. As always, make mine Marvel, True Believer!!
