Why hello there, Young Child! I am here to tell you of a tale. A Tale of mystery and of wonder!! The tale of a Young Boy and his giant um, bird-dog-thingy and their quest to be Played by you!! This is the tale of The Last Guardian and how on December 6th, you’ll finally be able to play it!!

Many years ago, a small team of developers joined together to create a game called ICO. Loved by both by the media and gamers alike, the game brought attention to the creative minds of Team ICO and the director of it, Fumito Ueda. Not long after, people wondered what was next from the award winning developers.

Then 2005 rolled around. Enter Shadow of the Colossus. A game that had one mission: to bring your dead lover back to life..by killing enormous colossus for an evil entity. The Gameplay was amazing and the storyline? Epic! As it featured a major twist. SoTC is considered by some to be one of the greatest PlayStation games ever made. After the game became a criticial and commercial success,Team ICO was ready to move on, to create another masterpiece. This is where our story begins to turn to the dark side.

In May of 2009, a small (at the time) website known as PlayStation Lifestyle revealed to the world Team ICO’s next game, which at that time was known as ‘Project Trico‘. This was only the beginning of the tumultuous development phase of the game later known as The Last Guardian. The game was originally set to be released in late 2011, as a Team ICO Collection was released, featuring both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus in HD for the PS3.

2011 came and went and no TLG. To make matters worse, The Director of the game, Fumito Ueda, left Sony to create his own studio.

2012 came and went. No TLG.

2013 came and went. NO TLG.

2014 came and right before E3 hit, IGN infamously made the mistake of looking like some fools with their pants on the ground. They announced the game was canceled. It wasn’t, yet it still was not shown at E3.

So, 2014 in a nutshell? 2014 came and went. NO. TLG.

Then came 2015. Sony’s E3 Press Conference begins. BY GAWD IT’S THE LAST GUARDIAN!!! RUNNING ON A PS4!! While the game didn’t arrive in 2015, it was eventually announced for a 2016 release at E3 2016.

But yeah, it was delayed again. From September to December 6th, two days after the end of PSX 2016. Here we go again, right?

NO!! BETTER YET, Shu even tweeted late last night the GAME HAS GONE GOLD!!! Shu confirmed it and Shu knows his sh!t!!!

Soon enough we will know if the game has been worth the wait, but to the team(s) of developers and everyone who has been a part of the game over all these years? CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DID IT!!

The Last Guardian releases on December 6th, 2016, only the PlayStation 4.

Can’t wait to meet you guys!
